Australian tech death metal veterans Psycroptic have unveiled their new single, “No Blade Of Grass,” the lead track off their upcoming full-length album The Pulse Of Annihilation.
Set for release on July 17 via Metal Blade Records, The Pulse Of Annihilation marks Psycroptic's debut with the renowned label and first studio album since 2012.
The album was recorded in conjunction with producer Tom Morris at Goats Head Studio in Sydney, Australia, and finds Psycroptic refining their complex sound while honing in on a more focused approach.
The result is an album that showcases both technical prowess and refined songwriting skills.
A statement from the band notes that the new single “has a good blend of old-school Psycroptic-style riffage and slightly sludge filled, loosey-goosey sections straight outta the classic death metal era.” Adding to this description, guitarist Joe Haley remarks that the track features a choral/orchestral chorus, while vocalist Jason Peppiatt highlights the song's fast-paced flow and groove.
A full tracklist has been revealed for The Pulse Of Annihilation, which includes “Ashes Of A New Dawn,” “Gathering A Venomous Herd,” “No Time For The Weak,” and others.
The album will be available on digipak CD and digital formats as well as vinyl in multiple color variants.
Pycroptic is gearing up for a busy touring schedule, including several Australian shows with support from Growth and Slaughtercult, followed by four Japanese dates with fellow Metal Blade Records artists Rivers Of Nihil and The Zenith Passage.
More live dates will be announced soon.
The band’s current lineup consists of Joe Haley on guitars, Todd Stern on bass, Jason Peppiatt on vocals, Jason Keyser also on vocals, and David Haley on drums.
