JUDAS PRIEST singer Rob Halford took to social media on Saturday (July 4) to extend congratulations to America on its 250th-anniversary milestone.

In a video message, the 74-year-old British born musician expressed his hope that America's future would be 'marked by courage, progress, unconditional love and freedom for all.' Halford said: "Hello, America.

Today you celebrate an extraordinary milestone.

For a quarter of a millennium, your nation has been guided by the enduring ideals of liberty, opportunity and self-government.

While your journey has not been easy, each generation has worked to move your country closer to its highest principles." This anniversary is more than a celebration of the past, Halford emphasized.

It's about looking towards the future.

He urged Americans to honor those who came before them while inspiring those who will follow.

In a poignant message, Halford wished America continued success in building a nation that values unity, hope and service to their country.

He ended his video with a personal message: "Thank you, and keep the metal faith loud and proud." Halford's sentiments come as no surprise given his long history of advocating for equality and social justice.

The singer has been an outspoken supporter of LGBTQ+ rights since publicly declaring his homosexuality in 1998.

Last year, Halford shared a personal anecdote about facing persecution as a gay man during his younger years in the UK.

He came out to his parents three years later.

Halford's latest statement is part of his continued efforts to promote unity and understanding across different communities.

His message serves as a reminder that even in times of division, there is hope for progress and freedom."
