Former VAN HALEN members David Lee Roth and Alex Van Halen have joined acclaimed artist Robert Vargas for a special appearance at the TEDxFargo event on Thursday, July 30 in Fargo, North Dakota.

The event, promoted by Vargas and TEDxFargo as 'Three icons.

One stage.

One conversation you won't want to miss,' is scheduled to take place at Brewhalla.

The appearance marks the first time David and Alex have performed together at a public event since VAN HALEN's final concert on October 4, 2015, at the Hollywood Bowl.

Although Alex had been announced as a speaker weeks earlier, David’s inclusion was revealed only on Monday, July 27, in an Instagram post by Vargas and TEDxFargo.

Robert Vargas, a Los Angeles-based artist who created a 2021 mural of Eddie Van Halen at the Guitar Center in Hollywood, has long expressed deep admiration for the band.

In a 2021 interview with Variety, he stated: 'VAN HALEN is my favorite rock band, my first concert, my first record, so for me it wasn't an artist-for-hire situation.

It was really just a fan of the music and someone who understands the nuances of it all.

It was important for me to also open up the process for the fans to come in and be a part of it.' Separately, David Lee Roth canceled all but one of the remaining dates of his current U.S.

tour earlier this month.

No official reason was given, though reports of empty seats at multiple Roth shows in June and July have sparked speculation about declining ticket sales.

Alex Van Halen released his memoir, 'Brothers,' in 2024, which he described as a 'love letter' to his younger brother, written while still mourning the untimely death of Eddie Van Halen.

TEDxFargo is returning this summer with the theme 'CHARGE' — a call to action centered on momentum, energy, and the power of ideas put into motion.
