Former SKID ROW singer Sebastian Bach has announced he is beginning to develop a follow-up to his 2024 solo album 'Child Within The Man'.
In a new interview with Ultimate Classic Rock, Bach revealed he has already taken the first step toward the project by creating a Dropbox folder with his touring band members: guitar player Bruiser Brody DeRozie, bassist Fede Delfino, and his son Paris Bach, who plays drums.
He confirmed he will be collaborating again with Devin Bronson and reaching out to ALTER BRIDGE's Myles Kennedy, who co-wrote two songs on the previous album — including 'What Do I Got to Lose', which Bach called 'a fucking kick-ass tune' and 'my favorite solo song I ever recorded'.
The folder, titled 'New Ideas 2026', is where Bach intends to store all initial ideas, which he says will eventually evolve into a full studio album.
'I make a folder, I go and put it on my phone.
I listen to it constantly and after a period of time, that folder becomes my new album.
And I just make it as everything I want it to be.
I'm pretty controlling about the sound that I want,' he said.
Bach emphasized his commitment to releasing new music, stating, 'I'm always gonna be putting out new stuff, 'cause that's what I enjoy doing.' He acknowledged the pandemic allowed for focused work on 'Child Within The Man', but stressed that rock and roll is constantly reinventing itself — a point he believes resonates with today's audience that is tired of screen time.
'We all spend so much time on our phones and our computers and staring at screens that we all are, like, 'Enough.
Oh my God.
Let's go rock out and have fun with our friends and our family and sing songs that we love and be together with other people instead of just staring at a screen,' he said.
Additionally, Bach revealed plans to release a Christmas record at some point, describing it as a traditional piano and organ-based album featuring songs he sang in church during his youth at All Saints Anglican Church in Peterborough, Ontario.
'It's not gonna be 'Jingle Bells' with electric guitars.
It's gonna be a traditional piano, organ-based record of vocals of songs that I did in the church,' he said.
'Child Within The Man' was well received, with Associated Press calling it 'a fierce performer in prime fighting form' and Ultimate Classic Rock noting Bach's 'voice has lost none of its rage or range'.
The track '(Hold On) To The Dream' was included in Consequence's '30 Best Metal & Hard Rock Songs Of 2024' as a 'late-career masterpiece' and one of Bach's highest-note performances.
The album, recorded in Orlando, Florida, features guest appearances from John 5, Steve Stevens, and Orianthi, with two tracks co-written by Myles Kennedy.
Bach wrote or co-wrote all 11 tracks and sang all lead and backing vocals.
Prior to 'Child Within The Man', his last full-length release was 'Give 'Em Hell' in March 2014."
