Shining have released a new single titled 'North,' a ferocious fusion of industrial metal, distorted screams, and a distinctive Nordic saxophone riff.

The track pays homage to the harsh winters and resilient spirit of the North, reflecting the band's core philosophy of perseverance and self-reliance.

The song was written, recorded, and mixed entirely by Shining in their own studio before being filmed in drummer Simen Sandnes’ cabin in the Norwegian mountains.

The release coincides with Shining’s legendary Blackjazz performance at Bloodstock Festival on August 7, 2026, in Catton Park, Derbyshire, United Kingdom.

The tour continues with shows in Copenhagen, Utrecht, Paris, Birmingham, Glasgow, and Dublin.

The Birmingham, Glasgow, and Dublin dates feature special guests Igorrr and Otto Von Schirach.

Shining, led by saxophonist and composer Jørgen Munkeby, began as an acoustic jazz quartet and evolved into a pioneering force in heavy music through their Blackjazz style.

The band has released several key albums including One One One (2013), International Blackjazz Society (2015), and Animal (2018), with the latter’s title track surpassing 13 million Spotify streams.

Shining’s 2024 Hellfest performance before 15,000 fans marked a major anniversary showcase, and their upcoming Bloodstock appearance continues that legacy.

In a separate announcement, the final solo album by original Iron Maiden vocalist Paul Di’Anno, titled Warhorse, is now available on colored vinyl through BraveWords Records.
