Guitarist Simon McBride has joined forces with YouTube channel Guitar Interactive to discuss his time in legendary rock band Deep Purple, as well as the creation of their new album Splat.
In an extensive conversation with Guitar Interactive, McBride talks about working alongside producer Bob Ezrin, writing songs through live improvisation, and recording together as a band.
He also delves into the unique chemistry that powers Deep Purple's sound, and discusses his biggest influences, including Gary Moore, Joe Satriani, and Steve Lukather.
On replacing Steve Morse in 2022, McBride states, 'There was zero pressure from anyone on me.
The only pressure that I got was from me.' He also chats about his upcoming instrumental solo album and future plans with Deep Purple.
