New York-based heavy metal band Slayer has officially announced the title and release date for their upcoming album.

The band, best known for their influential work with the classic lineup of Kerry King, Jeff Hanneman, and Dave Lombardo, revealed on their official website that the new record will be titled "The End of the World" and will drop on October 18, 2024.

The announcement comes via a statement from the band's manager, who confirmed the title and release window in a press release issued on September 23, 2024.

"We’ve been working on this for years," said manager Mike Piazza.

"This is the culmination of a decade of writing and recording, and we’re thrilled to finally share it with the world." "The End of the World" is expected to feature a mix of aggressive riffs and melodic breakdowns, drawing from Slayer’s signature sound while incorporating modern production techniques.

The album will be released through the band’s long-time label, Metal Blade Records.

The band has not yet confirmed a tour schedule for the album’s promotion, but a press statement indicated that a global tour will follow the release, with initial shows set to begin in November 2024.

Slayer fans will have the opportunity to pre-order the album directly from Metal Blade Records starting October 1, 2024.

The digital and physical versions will be available in standard and limited edition formats, with the latter including a signed vinyl and a bonus DVD of rare live footage."
