Slayer will celebrate the 40th anniversary of its landmark album Reign In Blood with the release of a limited-edition Liquid Filled Vinyl on November 20. The 'Blood' Filled Zoetrope 1LP features crimson-red liquid and is available exclusively via Sound Of Vinyl. The release marks the first time Reign In Blood has been issued with a liquid infusion.
The album, Slayer’s debut for American Recordings and their first collaboration with producer Rick Rubin, was recorded with Tom Araya [vocals, bass], Kerry King [guitar], the late Jeff Hanneman [guitar], and Dave Lombardo [drums]. It clocks in at 28 minutes and 58 seconds and remains a defining work in heavy metal history, with over 200 million streams and a Gold certification from the RIAA.
In addition to the vinyl release, Slayer will perform Reign In Blood in full during a series of live engagements. The tour begins October 21 at Palacio De Los Deportes in Mexico City, continues with a show at Sick New World Texas on October 24, and concludes with two sold-out headline shows at Kia Forum in Los Angeles on November 13 and 14. The tour includes support from Cannibal Corpse, Cavalera, and Crowbar.
The North American run concludes with headline shows in Bogotá, Colombia; Santiago, Chile; Buenos Aires, Argentina; and São Paulo, Brazil in December.
