Max Cavalera has confirmed the start of creative work on SOULFLY's follow-up to the 2023 album "Chama", which was released via Nuclear Blast Records. The new record is positioned as a continuation and evolution of the vision laid out in "Chama", which Max described as a blueprint for the band's next decade. For the first time in SOULFLY's history, Max has transferred producing and creative direction to his son, Zyon Cavalera, who co-produced "Chama" and has been credited with bringing a dynamic, intense drumming style to the band. Zyon is known for his energetic stage presence and is nicknamed 'The Octopus' by band members.

SOULFLY will embark on a 25-date U.S. tour this fall. The tour begins at the Louder Than Life festival in Dallas, with additional performances in Salt Lake City and West Hollywood. The tour concludes with a headline show in Tempe, Arizona, on October 15. Support will be provided by NAILBOMB, Max Cavalera's 1990s industrial sludge/crust punk side project, and INCITE.

The 2025 West Coast tour with GO AHEAD AND DIE, which concluded on November 23 in Flagstaff, is now completed. "Chama" was recorded at Platinum Underground Studio in Mesa, Arizona, with engineering by John Aquilino, and produced by Zyon Cavalera and Arthur Rizk, who also handled mixing and mastering. The album artwork was created by Carletta Parrish. Guitarist Mike DeLeon, who has toured with SOULFLY for three years, played guitar on the record and previously joined Philip Anselmo's solo band PHILIP H. ANSELMO & THE ILLEGALS in 2015, filling in for Marzi Montazeri. He also filled in for Zakk Wylde at the first rehearsal for the fall 2022 PANTERA shows.
