Legendary guitarist Tony Iommi has announced the worldwide release of his new album, From The Dark, set for October 23, 2026.
The album marks a significant creative milestone in Iommi’s six-decade career, following his groundbreaking work with Black Sabbath and his acclaimed solo endeavors.
From The Dark features a lineup including Norwegian vocalist Jorn Lande, who shares writing credits on all tracks, bassist Becky Baldwin, and drummer Karl Brazil.
Co-produced by Iommi and long-time collaborator Mike Exeter, the album delivers a vibrant, contemporary sound that blends Iommi’s signature heavy guitar work with expansive, cinematic arrangements.
The first single, 'World Alone,' premiered at a special global streaming event held in Iommi’s hometown of Birmingham, England—just a stone’s throw from the Black Sabbath Bridge, a civic tribute to the iconic band opened in 2019.
The track, described as a 'thunderous rock song' with flying guitar riffs and a powerful rhythm section, is anchored by Lande’s dystopian lyrics and soaring vocal delivery.
Iommi says, "It’s an album we’ve really enjoyed making.
We’re not trying to prove anything – it’s a great album, it rocks!" The album’s tracklist includes 'Over The Violent Sun,' 'Black Times,' 'World Alone,' 'Beyond The Dead,' 'Stormwatcher,' 'Death Wake,' 'Return Of The Arbalist,' and 'Legacy,' with bonus tracks 'Scent Of Dark' and 'Deified (Extended Version).
The single also includes an exclusive instrumental version of 'World Alone' on Side B.
From The Dark will be released in multiple formats, including a double LP in four distinct colors: double black vinyl, double 'Monkey' red & black marble vinyl, double 'New Boy' white & black marble vinyl, and double 'Eyeglass' transparent blue vinyl.
Each features a die-cut gatefold sleeve with Tony Iommi’s signature cross.
Additional formats include a deluxe CD media book edition with a 32-page booklet and bonus tracks, an Amazon exclusive CD digisleeve, and a standard CD digisleeve.
The album comes a year after Black Sabbath’s final-ever show at the 2025 Back To The Beginning concert in Birmingham, serving as a powerful testament to the enduring creative energy of Iommi and his legacy in heavy metal."
