Alissa White-Gluz, former vocalist of Arch Enemy, has released "Flying Monkey" as the second single from her new project Blue Medusa. The track builds on the success of the debut single "Checkmate" and further establishes Blue Medusa as a compelling force in modern heavy music. "Flying Monkey" is a layered, emotionally charged piece that incorporates psychological allegory and symbolic self-expression.

The song's creative elements, including wardrobe, props, color palette, and visual debris, were intentionally designed by White-Gluz to reflect deeper narrative themes. The music video was co-directed by White-Gluz and Vicente Cordero, and the single artwork was digitally painted by White-Gluz herself. Guitarist Dani Sophia composed the instrumentation, describing the song as emerging from a liminal emotional space marked by recurring nightmares and an out-of-tune music box.

White-Gluz co-produced and arranged the track, wrote the lyrics and vocal melodies, and described the album as a form of personal memoir. Guitarist Alyssa Day delivered a standout solo in the bridge section, which she characterized as a playful, technically nuanced performance. The release reinforces Blue Medusa's commitment to cinematic storytelling, technical musicianship, and emotionally driven songwriting.

The band continues to develop a cohesive artistic vision that blends intricate music with psychological depth and visual artistry. The single is available for streaming, and fans are encouraged to subscribe to the BraveWords YouTube channel for weekly updates on new releases.
