"Rats In The Temple" features 13 tracks that explore themes of death, abuse, betrayal, and war. The album opens with the stadium-ready hooks of "Harvesting The Hate" and "Damnation", before advancing into thrash virtuosity on "Absolution". The guitar duo of Michael Gilbert and Steve Conley deliver ghoulish imagery on tracks like "Blame The Knife" and "Rats In The Temple", while the rhythm duo of drummer Ken Mary and bassist Bill Bodily take center stage on the anti-war anthem "A Taste For War".
The new release marks 40 years since FLOTSAM AND JETSAM's groundbreaking debut, "Doomsday For The Deceiver", which earned a 6K rating from Kerrang! magazine. The band has continued to evolve with recent albums including "The End Of Chaos" (2019), "I Am The Weapon" (2024), and "Blood In The Water". The current lineup, including frontman Eric "A.K." Knutson, guitarist Michael Gilbert, guitarist Steve Conley, bassist Bill Bodily, and drummer Ken Mary, represents the band's strongest configuration to date.
The album track listing includes: Harvesting The Hate, Damnation, Absolution, Blame The Knife, Rats In The Temple, The Ghost Behind My Door, First On The Spike, The Edge Of Nowhere, Last Rites, A Taste For War, Her Blood Your Pain, Anthem For The Broken, and Not Going Down That Way.
