Tony Iommi, founding member of Black Sabbath and widely regarded as the godfather of heavy metal, has released his first new solo album in 21 years.
Titled "From The Dark," the full-length record marks Iommi’s first studio release since Black Sabbath’s final album, 13., and is set for release on October 23 via BMG.
The album features eight tracks, including the debut single "World Alone," a fast-paced, guitar-driven track with Tony Iommi’s signature monster riffs.
The song is lyrically crafted by vocalist Jorn Lande, blending heavy sonic textures with an uplifting, catchy melody.
An instrumental version of "World Alone" is included as a bonus track on the single, exclusive to its release.
Iommi collaborated with long-time producer Mike Exeter, alongside musicians Jorn Lande (vocals), Karl Brazil (drums), and Becky Baldwin (bass).
The resulting album is described as sonically heavy and rich in musical textures, showcasing some of Iommi’s finest guitar performances to date.
Iommi has also scheduled a YouTube livestream for today, July 29, at 7:30 AM PDT / 10:30 AM EDT / 3:30 PM BST, to promote the release.
The album features tracks such as "Over The Violent Sun," "Black Times," "Beyond The Dead," "Stormwatcher," "Death Wake," "Return Of The Arbalist," "Legacy," "Scent Of Dark," and the extended version of "Deified.""
