The heavy metal horns salute, made famous by Ronnie James Dio and adopted by millions of fans worldwide, continues to be a topic of discussion.

Wendy Dio spoke with BraveWords about the origins of this iconic sign.

According to Wendy, it wasn't an intentional move by Dio, but rather a nod to his fans who were reciprocating with their own horns.

Wendy recalls a conversation where Ronnie discussed the significance of this gesture: "I think that was something Ronnie loved," she says.

"He didn't intend to do it, but he loved when they did it...

It was kind of like a cult thing, we're all in this together." The Dio Cancer Fund is still active today, continuing Ronnie's legacy by supporting cancer research and awareness.
