Wolves In The Throne Room have released their new album Estuary, set for release on October 23 via Relapse Records in North America. The record marks the band's most ferocious and genre-bending work to date, built on analog production techniques and recorded primarily at their Owl Lodge studio in Olympia, Washington. Drums were tracked by Nicholas Wilbur at The Unknown in Anacortes, Washington, with touring bassist Galen Baudhuin contributing to the low-end foundation.

The album explores themes of post-apocalyptic survival, wilderness resurgence, and the emergence of magic in a world after civilization collapses. A first single, "Ghosts Among The Obelisks," is available today with a music video depicting a warrior journeying through ancient ruins haunted by spirits. " The album features raw, volatile soundscapes blending industrial noise with organic elements such as rain, forests, and starlight, emphasizing the tension between stillness and motion, animal and machine, and elemental forces and electricity.

The band confirmed that estuaries in their fictional world serve as key nexus points where spirits—both good and evil—walk the earth. The release follows a tour including dates from January 15 to 17 in Estes Park, CO at Fire In The Mountains @ The Stanley Hotel.
